Students' Union, first floor
A bit about the role
Despite the myth, this role is about much more than sports clubs and has a direct impact on all sports provision across campus. VP Sport works closely with stakeholders across Royal Holloway, ensuring events such as Varsity are delivered effectively and feedback from students is listened to.
VP Sport also sits on the Board of Trustees and is the Union’s representative at the national BUCS Conference.
A word from Dom
Hey, I’m Dom Brown and I am going into my second year as Vice President Sport.
I have loved my first year in the role and I'm excited to hit the ground running this summer ready for students to arrive in September.
VP Sport represents and works with the sports clubs on campus to further their development and make their lives easier! This year I have some clear targets and manifesto points:
Firstly, I would like to encourage student groups to introduce welfare secretaries, review the funding system for student groups, and make campus more active.
As student representatives we love hearing student ideas and feedback so please talk to us in person or contact us on social media.
I always want to be approachable and ever-present for sports club members and you will usually see me down at the Sports Centre on a Wednesday afternoon for the weekly BUCS fixtures.
I also work collaboratively with other SU staff to put on big sporting events through the year such as our awards night – Colours Ball – and our massive annual Varsity fixture against University of Surrey!
Good luck with your year and speak to you soon!
