A STUDENT VOICE

Through time we can see that student voices have gotten out there, they have been heard but there has been a minimal impact. But it is abundantly clear that student voices are not being listened to, this is become extremely clear during these trying times. All shortfalls around student support are now coming out into the light of day. In my first 30 days as Students Union President I will make it my mission to unify the national student voice. I will personally write to every Students Union President in the country to run a student campaign that can make a REAL impact. There is a stronger voice in numbers and right now students need a strong voice.

TRANSPARENCY

The larger the organisation the less noticeable change is. Our Students Union actually falls in the top 1% of charities in England, therefore it is understandable that bureaucracy and politics get in the way of delivering tangible change. In my first 100 days I will overhaul the way the Students Union impacts students, giving you a bigger insight into what the Students Union is working on. Making sure that EVERY decision and EVERY change has a physical and tangible effect on students to know that your SU is doing something for YOU!

DIVERSITY

EVERY single person deserves a platform, EVERY student deserves a voice and deserves to not only be heard but also listened to regardless of race, sexuality, gender, or ethnicity everyone should have an equal platform to be listened to. Ultimately, you know what is best for you therefore within my first 100 days I want to reach out to as many students at our University as is physically possible. To listen to YOU, to hear YOU and to make sure that YOU are being supported in every way possible. Use the SU as your spring board for the future! Within the first 100 days I will overhaul the Students Union’s diversity strategy which currently is formed of only a single paragraph!
