Increased bus service to and from Kingswood

    Passed
Many students who live at Kingswood complain about struggling to get there and back, especially at night. The pathway to Kingswood is unlit and mostly comprises of a small alleyway concealed from the road which makes it potentially dangerous, particularly for students leaving lectures late or coming back from the library alone. The bus needs to be more consistent, more frequent and run in the late evening even at weekends. This is really important for student safety and to reduce intense anxiety experienced by Kingswood students. Most students can’t afford taxis, don’t drive and are often also afraid of travelling alone in a taxi, so the bus is usually their only option.

11:27pm on 18 Oct 16 As a Kingswood student, I'm completely agreed. The lack of a service from Kingswood to Campus between 7:30pm and 9:15pm is also highly frustrating if you have any evening club events. I would also argue that bus services should be more frequent, maybe every 15/20 minutes instead of the current 30 minutes (during main portion of the day). I recently had to pick up a friend from Campus who was too frightened to walk back on their own. Would there be any possibility of encouraging the local council to invest in more lighting (and signs) along the pathways?

4:41pm on 20 Oct 16 I also agree 100%. It would be great to have a 24hour bus services Monday to Friday. And at the weekend a bus service until a later time than 1am
