Release the exam timetable earlier in the academic year

The exam timetable is currently not released until the last week of term. This makes it more difficult to plan revision. There could be as little as 4 weeks between the release of the exam timetable and the first exam. I'm not trying to say that timetabling for exams is a simple proceedure that can be done overnight, but I do wonder just how arbitrary the release date of late March is, it would certainly be better to know earlier. Of course I know this is beyond the SU's own remit but it would be interesting to see what others think.
