Easier access to music practice rooms for non-music degree students

    Expired
    • University Idea
Currently, it's not easy to get access to a music practice room if you are not a music student and you can't really use it for any more than an hour which isn't long enough for practice at all. It's not as if I can get a piano up to my room to practice so it would be really helpful for the university to allow students who have hobbies that they don't study to actually continue with them whilst they are studying here!

4:45pm on 17 Mar 19 This is definitely an important cause - please vote for it. As a singer and trumpet player it was incredibly hard to practise in halls where your flatmates don't necessarily want to hear you play everyday as it can be distracting while they're working. In the end I had to stop playing my trumpet and made the JH Choir in order to keep my singing up to standard. Music can be important to so many people who don't study it and should be made much more accessible on campus - especially for such a creative university that attracts many musicians etc.
