    More Bike Racks On Campus

    Expired
    • Community Idea
    • University Idea
The two biggest bike racks on campus, the ones outside the SU and the area outside Windsor Building, have been removed, leading to a shortage of spaces for people to securely lock up their bikes. These two bike racks were the largest on campus, and were in the most useful and central locations - removing them has meant that any remaining bike racks are always overcrowded and very rarely have any spaces, meaning that students often have to spend more time looking for an availiable space, potentially causing them to be late for lectures. Also, the lack of a bike rack at the back gate means that many students are forced to lock their bike to the fence, or carry their bikes up the steps to the rack near Runnymede. A bike rack here would be extremely useful. As many students live off campus and use a bicycle to get to the uni, there is therefore a need to provide a decent number of bike racks to serve both off campus and on campus students. In not replacing the removed bike racks, this has created a shortage which needs to be resolved.

4:55pm on 13 Oct 17 There are no bike racks near the new library. The limited number of bike racks are always full too.

5:14pm on 13 Oct 17 Cyclists park their bike anywhere which could disrupt others' pathway. Also, it's good to have bike racks with roof too (very useful with the unpredictable weather).
