Below are the different awards you can submit a nomination for and its relevant critera:
This award recognises a Personal Tutor who has demonstrated exceptional support for students, understanding the challenges they face and offering guidance both academically and personally. The nominee should have gone above and beyond in supporting student welfare and academic development, providing extra effort to ensure students thrive at Royal Holloway.
This award celebrates an academic or professional services colleague who has shown outstanding dedication to student representation. The nominee should have been proactive in championing student feedback, advocating for student needs, and ensuring the student voice is heard across their department (or School).
Awarded to a colleague who has tirelessly promoted equity, diversity, and inclusion within the university community. The nominee will have made significant contributions to advancing the university’s vision for inclusive, decolonised education, advocating for greater opportunities and breaking down barriers to education for all students.
This award recognises a colleague whose passion, expertise, and engagement with students have had a profound positive impact on the student experience. The nominee should have made their content engaging, relevant, and inspiring, fostering a positive and enriching academic environment.
This award recognises a professional services staff member whose efforts have significantly enhanced the quality of student experiences at Royal Holloway. Whether they work in your School or Department, the Library, Careers, Wellbeing or another service, the nominee has demonstrated a commitment to providing exceptional academic support, positively affecting students' academic journeys in a non-teaching role.
This award celebrates a team, department or School that has worked collaboratively with students to enhance engagement, inclusivity and student wellbeing. The nominees should have fostered a strong sense of belonging through events, study support and active student involvement, resulting in a positive impact on students' academic experiences.
The Process
Any student can submit a nomination for one of the above awards using the linked form. The winners of the awards will be determined by a panel made up of: Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor Inclusive Learning, a Vice Dean for Education and Student Experience, a Vice Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Senior Student Journey Division Director, Vice President Education, a School Rep and a former award winner.
The winners will be announced during term three and will also be presented at the relevant Graduation Ceremony.
