About Me

Hi - I’m Rory, one of the External Trustees that sits on the Trustee Board of the Students’ Union.

My experience

My experience is mainly commercial, where I run a growing bakery and coffee-shop business based down the road in Windsor. Prior to that, I worked for six years as a programme manager in the international division of a large high-street bank. I also know students’ unions well having been a sabbatical officer myself up in York!

My interests

My main interests are helping ensure the Union continues to have strong trading operations; recognising the value they bring to student life, but also the amazing activities their profits support.

Having benefited from union activities in my own time at university, I’m also a huge advocate of societies, student media and other groups. It’s amazing what student groups do day-in-day-out; something unique to higher education and in my view a key part of the student experience!
