About Me
After graduating from Warwick University in Management Science and a gap year working in the tourism industry in Italy, I worked for 16 years at British Airways in international sales and marketing, having joined on a grad scheme. I have extensive transnational sales and commercial know-how from working in Germany, Russia, Japan and India and travelling extensively worldwide.
After a career switch into Higher Education 17 years ago, I now have extensive academic experience inspiring large and diverse audiences in the UK, France, Eire, Sweden and Singapore. I specialise in international marketing (services, B2B & digital), strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, but I have previously delivered a wide range of management-related modules including; airport terminal design, finance, and design thinking.
My experience
My innovative pedagogies have been awarded AdvanceHE's National Teaching Fellow. Aside from using a highly vocational, innovative, and experiential style of teaching and learning, I am probably best known for my expertise in business case study writing and coaching.
I have held a number of senior leadership roles at Universities including; Director of the UK’s second largest distance MBA programme in partnership with the University of London Worldwide, Director for Undergraduate Studies (both at Royal Holloway, University of London), and currently, I am the Executive Director for Postgraduate Taught programmes at Surrey University Business School.
I serve RHSU as an External Trustee, having previously been chair of our local village Scout group and am also a non-executive director for Liquid Palladium, a Robotic Process Automation international start-up.
My interests
I am married with two offspring (one is already at University) and enjoy swimming, badminton and trying to play football locally in Surrey Heath and Egham in my free time.
