Jane Broadbent is Emerita Professor of Accounting at Royal Holloway University of London. She has extensive experience in management, having been Senior Vice-Principal at Royal Holloway as well as Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost at the University of Roehampton. In these positions she drew on the experience in her early career when she trained as an accountant in the NHS. Not only is she well experienced as a manager she is a strong advocate of the importance of social sciences and she is eager to ensure that academic research addresses relevant policy and practitioner problems.
Following her early professional career, Jane returned to education graduating in Sociology from the University of York as a mature student. Following a Masters in accounting and her PhD at the University of Sheffield. Her research has focussed on investigating performance management and accounting-led change in the public services, leading to many publications in top journals.
