The Advice Centre is a free and independent service for all students here at Royal Holloway. Our friendly, experienced and professional staff will provide a listening ear and offer general and specialist advice. We’re here to support you with a whole range of issues, big and small, and if we’re not the best people to help you with a particular issue, we’ll point you in the right direction.

Coronavirus Update

In light of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, from midday on Tuesday 17 March 2020, the Advice Centre will cease all face-to-face appointments. However, it is critical that you are still able to access our advice services and we will continue to deliver this digitally through our website, by email and via phone or Zoom appointments.

We appreciate the volume of information being sent your way could be quite overwhelming, so we've created a Coronavirus Hub to give you quick links to key advice, guidance, and our latest news updates. With dedicated pages for housing, academic, and welfare advice, as well as links to government advice and College FAQs, it's your one-stop shop for all the vital information during this time.

What can we help you with?

Our advisors are trained to support you in many areas of advice, covering a lot of the issues that students may face during their time at Royal Holloway. We are happy to offer general wellbeing advice but it’s probably useful to know that we also particularly specialise in private sector housing and academic advice (i.e. academic appeals and disciplinaries).

Check out the resources in the sections below which may provide you with the information you need.

How do I GET HELP FROM THE ADVICE CENTRE?

If you've already looked through our web pages and you can't find the information you're after, or if you'd prefer to discuss something, you can get in touch with us:

Before your appointment

Before your appointment, it might be helpful for you to read our Student Care Statement and Confidentiality Policy to understand a bit more about our commitment to you. Unfortunately, in a small number of cases, it may not be possible for the Advice Centre to continue offering advice, in which case our withdrawal of services policy may come into effect.
