What is the Platinum Jubilee Community Celebration?
It’s an opportunity to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style with a family fun day featuring children’s entertainers, fairground rides and Queen Will Rock You - one of the world's most authentic tributes to the legend that is Freddie Mercury and Queen.
What time is the event taking place?
Doors open at 14:00 with activities and entertainment taking place throughout the afternoon and evening. Hey Duggee Narration starts on the Festival Stage at 14:20 with Meet & Greet sessions to follow between 15:00-15:40 and 16:40-17:20, either side of a performance from the big lovable dog. More children's entertainment hits the Square Stage at 15:00 in the form of Tootles & Nibs. Queen Will Rock You will be performing on the Festival Stage from 19:00. The event curfew is 21:00. All times are subject to change – please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Who can buy tickets?
Designed as a family fun day for the local community, this event is open to everyone – current students, alumni and the general public are more than welcome to attend and join the jubilee celebrations!
Where is the event entrance?
The event entrance is situated on the corner of Founder’s Square, adjacent to Founder’s Building. Please check out the campus map to help navigate your way around campus.
Do I need a physical ticket?
No, your e-tickets will be emailed to you by TicketWeb. We'll scan your tickets upon entry and each ticket holder will be given a wristband that acts as proof of entry for the event.
What are your entry requirements?
There will be no Covid Pass or negative test requirements but we encourage all ticket holders to test before the event if they can and respect other people's personal space when on site. Please don't come to the event if you're feeling ill, have symptoms or have tested positive for coronavirus.
What forms of ID will I require?
If you wish to purchase alcohol at the event, please bring your photographic proof of age ID (driving licence, passport, PASS card).
Will there be food and drink available?
Yes, there will be a range of food and drink on offer from street food stalls and bars across the site.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Except for baby food and milk, only food and drink purchased on the premises may be consumed at the event. There will be several hot food caterers in attendance, with a range of drinks available to purchase from our bars. Free tap water is available from Crosslands throughout the event. Please do not bring picnics or other food and drink items to the venue.
Are dogs allowed at the event?
We understand that dogs are part of the family, so you are welcome to bring them on your day out. All we ask is that you keep your furry friends on a lead and ensure they are supervised at all times during their visit. Please also make sure to clean up after your dog and remember to bring poop bags! Due to the nature of the event, there will be music played throughout the day. If your dog is sensitive to loud noises, you may wish to consider taking them home ahead of the evening performance from Queen Will Rock You at 7pm.
Is there free parking available?
With the majority of ticket holders coming from the local area, we would encourage you to walk to the event, if you are able. If you are planning on driving, free parking is available on campus throughout the event. The ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system has been turned off for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend so please ignore the signage regarding permit requirements. You are encouraged to park in car park 14 (situated off Harvest Road with a footbridge across the A30 taking you straight to Founder’s Building) but parking is also available on campus in car park 4 (behind the Students’ Union). Can I leave the event and come back later?
Yes, subject to capacity, you may leave the event and return later on. Please ensure you keep your wristband on as this acts as proof of entry for the event.
How much are tickets?
General admission: £25; Concessions (13-16): £10; Children (12 and under): Free; Family tickets (2 adults / 2 children any age): £50. All ticket types are subject to an additional booking fee.
Are there any free tickets left?
800 free tickets were allocated to the local community to say thank you for your support throughout the years. These tickets have now sold out.
Is there a discount for current students?
Yes! Students can purchase a £10 ticket through the SU website. Summer Ball wristband holders can also attend for free - simply show your wristband on the door.
I work at Royal Holloway, can I get a discount?
I’m disabled and worried about access, will I be able to take part?

Can I sell my ticket on?

If the event is cancelled will I get a refund?
In the unlikely event that the event is cancelled in full (and not rescheduled), your order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded the Sale Price of your tickets (service charges and order processing fees are non-refundable). Further details can be found in the TicketWeb Purchase Policy.
