About us

We are Royal Holloway's Club of the Year 2022-2023 and winners of the England Rugby Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award 2023!

Whether you have never even touched a rugby ball or you've been playing your whole life, we have a place for you! Our Level 3 coach will teach you everything you need to know, and build on your skills and personal development as a player.

Rugby is an incredibly team-orientated sport and we believe that is reflected in our club ethos, both on and off the pitch. We are welcoming of everyone, no matter your differences, and believe everyone has something valuable and unique to bring. In a game you rely on the player to your left and right and through this team atmosphere playing rugby will build your confidence, strength and discipline.

Off the pitch we don't stop either! We host socials at the Red Lion, or with other clubs and societies at venues on campus. In addition to this during the summer we take the club international as we go on tour (this year we went to Budapest)! We’re also very active in the community, regularly giving our time to fundraise for charities close to our hearts, such as the trans laces campaign we ran for Stonewall (pictured above), as well as volunteering at local schools and clubs. Not only is it super rewarding to see so many young individuals excited to start rugby but through this we also develop skills such as coaching.

Membership

Our membership costs cover:

  • Individual entry into BUCS league to play on a Wednesday
  • Coaching costs to pay for our coach
  • Access to weekly socials
  • A personalised hoodie
  • Access to a physio
  • Access to a playing kit for games
  • A second weekly training session
  • Travel costs to and from away games

The membership costs can be paid in full at the start of the year or in installments at the start of each term.

We also offer a social membership for anyone who wants to be part of the club and enjoy our socials without playing the sport. These include access to our weekly socials and a personalised hoodie.

We are more than happy to talk through and breakdown any of the memberships with you. We believe in having full transparency about what your money is paying for.

Not only this, but the experience gained from Women’s Rugby is priceless! By joining our club you’ll be making friends and skills that last a lifetime.
