About us

We are Royal Holloway's Unique Broadcasting And Recording Brand, making great video content by students and for students.

RhubarbTV became dormant near the end of COVID-19 and now it's finally back! We're restarting and we're very excited to return. For those interested in working in the media sector, we provide full training on a range of professional equipment and produce content that is uploaded to our YouTube channel. We also aim to run a variety of careers events throughout the year, such as Q&As and talks with industry speakers from companies such as ITV and BBC.

However, RhubarbTV is also perfect for students who enjoy watching and are passionate about television. We plan to put on a wide variety of socials, designed to help you have fun and meet new people.

Membership

Purchasing a rhubarbtv membership will give you access to all of our filming events throughout the year and give you insurance cover to handle and use our equipment. You will also have free access to any careers events and socials that we hold, as well as any general meetings.

Your membership fee will enable us to keep producing content and putting on fantastic events for our members. As a member, you will have a chance to be involved in a wide variety of projects, all whilst gaining skills, having fun and meeting lots of like-minded people.

Purchasing a social membership will give you only access to any socials and screenings we hold, as well as general meetings.

Events and Activities

Over the course of the year, we expect to hold some of the following events:

Live filming at the Student's Union
Camera/Live training workshops
Regular socials, including quizzes and screenings of a popular TV episode
Collabs with other societies, including short form documentaries, gameshows and behind the scenes content
Late Night talk show, interviewing students and professionals from the media industry

Community Elections 2025

This election will elect all student leaders within our student communities. These communities include Societies, Sports Clubs, Media Outlets, Academic Communities, and Inclusion Communities. You will also elect members of our Societies, Sports and Opportunities (SSO) Executive, who work with the VP Societies and Sport to develop policy and plans in their area of engagement. We will also be reopening nominations for the EPMS, Humanities and Law and Social Sciences (LSS) School Reps. For Student Groups, you must be a current Royal Holloway student and a fully paid, standard member of the group to vote. To vote for a Community Officer, students must self-identify with the relevant inclusion community on the RHSU website (in settings). In order to vote for a School Rep, you must belong to the relevant academic school. Please ensure you are logged in to your SU account to cast your votes.
