Phase Two of our Turn Up campaign has begun! With your help, we're creating a Royal Holloway Student Manifesto.
A general election is coming, and we want to make sure that our students are heard and the issues that matter to you are at the forefront of discussions. To achieve this, we are creating a Royal Holloway Student Manifesto outlining all of the issues that are important to you. We will use the manifesto to engage with parliamentary candidates and ensure they respond to the issues. By the time Phase Four comes around, you'll feel informed and ready to cast your vote!
Have your say
Why should I get involved?
The decisions that the government make impact YOU as a student. Maybe you want maintenance loans to increase in line with inflation? Or better housing conditions and rights for students? Perhaps you want to feel more secure in the graduate job market once you complete your degree. Or, want there to be support for student mental health at universities? Maybe it’s better rights for international students or the support for disabled students that you want to see improve. These are a few examples of ways the government can impact you as a student, so make sure you use your voice and get involved!
And every voice matters – in 2019, 15.6 million people decided not to vote, that’s more than any party received in votes. So, it’s important to exercise your right to vote because the impact you could have is huge.
What else do I need to do?
