The EPMS Network
The EPMS Network is a fun and exciting social collective made up of students and staff from the School of Electronic Engineering, Physical and Mathematical Sciences. There is no sign up process, if you are part of the School, you can access all the network’s fantastic resources and events. We are here to help you have the best possible time at Royal Holloway and we’re constantly listening to what you need and how best we can make that happen.
We have paid workshops where you can share your views on the school and make real change. A bespoke series of events and industry experiences where you can build on your career opportunities, including the annual Technology Careers Fair. Last year, we ran the EPMS welcome party in the boiler house courtyard with free food and drinks and games, a bingo night, a climbing social, campus Monopoly, an e-waste art project scheme, a hugely fun gingerbread house-making competition and weekly board game cafés, amongst other things!
We recently held our welcome back pub quiz, and we are currently running a competition to design an air dancer that will go outside the winning schools building – if you can think it, they can design it! And next week will be our NSS survey pizza polling afternoon where you can come along and fill out the survey, get a slice of pizza and be in with the chance to win an iPad! In March, we will host some interesting talks from top scientists for science week. Throughout spring we will also have an easter egg decorating afternoon, a Mare Curie cake-bake, and more paid workshops across the term.
Physics
The assessment schedule of laboratory and skills modules are challenging… Physics have changed the timetables to even out your workload.
Electronic Engineering
The Electronic Engineering Department acts on your feedback. Examples include designing your own final year projects.
Computer Science
Computer Science has created the essential community forum on the undergrad Moodle page to help you follow departmental communications.
Mathematics
Maths introduced a final year advanced skills module so you can get ready for job interviews and applications.
