Known as the biggest and most exclusive event of the year, Summer Ball is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. On 24 March, the announcement of the highly anticipated line-up for Summer Ball 2017 on the 2 June will be made, with past years boasting acts such as Stormzy, Example, Jaguar Skills and more. For all the Summer Ball veterans, it is very well known that this is not an event to miss – from partying in the scenic surroundings of Founder’s Building to all the quirky activities you can partake in, here are reasons as to why missing out on Summer Ball is a mistake for any Royal Holloway student:
The gastronomic experience
It is inevitable that partying till the early hours will leave you feeling quite peckish. For the people requiring sustenance to fuel their shape-cutting skills and fist-pumping, Summer Ball features a food court displaying a wide range of international cuisine. The high-profile acts
For those who attended in last year’s Summer Ball, we were fortunate to experience internationally renowned acts such as Example, Jaguar Skills and even our own principal, Paul Layzell, perform live on the main stage. Summer Ball follows a format similar to that of a festival, presenting a variety of stages with interesting and different genres of music. It also looks to support student acts, introduced as a stage of its own. With the presence of such talented artists, it guarantees a memorable and impressive night.
Quirky activities to take part in
Last year’s Summer Ball bestowed us with a range of activities appropriate for every mood throughout the night. Examples include fairground activities such as dodgems, shisha if you’re feeling mellow, a silent disco to get you hyped up, hip-hop karaoke, a casino and much more! With the success of prior years, it is safe to expect a bigger and better Summer Ball this year.
