>> Tell us about yourself

Hi! My name is Elise Eriksson (she/her) and I'm the new School Representative for the School of Business and Management. I'm a third-year Management with Digital Innovation student and have been an active member of the SBM for the past two years working as a course representative. Apart from my role as school rep, I founded the Nordic Society with my friends last year and am now serving as President of the society! I'm also an avid reader, so if you have any book recommendations feel free to reach out to me and we can start a mini book club!

>> What made you want to become a School Rep for 2024/25?

I've always been drawn to roles that involve making the lives of the people around me better. As a course rep, I saw that I could help improve my peer's educational experiences by bringing their issues to light, and I felt that I wanted to make a greater personal impact. I applied to become a School Rep because it meant I'd be speaking directly to the people who make change happen, and I felt that I was the right person to bridge the gap between students and the educational board. I'm excited to see what can be improved this year!

>> Which part of your manifesto are you excited to work on?

One of the main points of my manifesto was building a stronger community. As the largest school on campus, I want to make sure that we feel even more connected to our peers and teachers by creating a wide range of events to bring us closer together. This could take place in the form of career-oriented events, bringing in guest speakers, or hosting social gatherings that give us the opportunity to meet and create personal relationships with all members of our school. I'm hoping that a stronger sense of community will inspire all our students to dive deeper into their university experience and allow them to feel fulfilled in the work that they put in.

>> What are you most looking forward to this coming academic year?

I'm most looking forward to meeting all the new students joining the School of Business and Management and getting to reconnect with our returning cohort! Together with our team of course reps, we're reading to hear what you have to say, and what changes you want to be made. We are here to support you with any concern you may have, so always feel free to reach out to any of us or contact me directly at: sbm.schoolrep@royalholloway.su or through direct message on our Instagram page: @sbmschool.rhsu.

Have the best start of the academic year and we'll see you soon!
