During Freshers’ Festival, we're hosting a variety of events for you to get involved in, from club nights to Give It A Go events (including a Petting Zoo!) to mixers to get you mingling - there’s a lot going on!
We know that it can be daunting starting university when you may not know anyone but still want to take part in lots of activities, that’s why we are running The Buddy Scheme.
The Buddy Scheme is a participation scheme that matches students who are interested in attending the same event during Freshers’ Festival. All you need to do is fill out the form with the events you’d like to attend, including any student group taster sessions, as well as any other interests or hobbies you may have, and we’ll pair you up with a fellow student who is interested in the same events.
You will need to complete the form by Thursday 14 September to receive the details of your buddy in time for Freshers’ Festival.
The events included in the scheme are:
-
Student Group Tasters
-
Give It A Go
-
Meet & Mingle
-
Club Nights
Making Friends at University
As well as The Buddy Scheme, we have lots of other things planned to help you make friends at Royal Holloway. Our Meet & Mingle and Give It A Go events will get you meeting your new community in a relaxed and friendly setting. Get ready to chat with coursemates at the Academic Communities Picnic, mix with other students at Campus Walk 'n' Talk or meet up with your Sabbatical Officers at the Mid-Week Mingle.
We will be releasing some more blogs on other ways to get involved and meet new people during your first few weeks of term so keep an eye out for those!
