Get Ready. Nominations Are Coming. It's Your Turn to Become a Student Leader

Ever wondered what it would be like to work with the University on shaping the future for Royal Holloway students? Are you passionate about working on issues that matter most to students just like you?

Nominations are now almost open for the 2025 Leadership Elections, which means you can register your interest in becoming a Sabbatical Officer for the 2025/26 academic year. It’s an unmissable opportunity to shape student experience at Royal Holloway, and champion the interests of students just like you.

Anyone can stand to be elected for one of our four full-time, paid Sabbatical Officer roles: President, VP Education, VP Wellbeing & Diversity, and VP Societies & Sport. We'll also be electing six School Reps to represent your views at school level.

Head over to our Elections website for more information on the job descriptions of each role, our rules and regs, candidate development information and loads more.

Can I run in the elections?

If you’re a fully signed up student at Royal Holloway, you are eligible to run for the election. You do need to be a member of the Students’ Union (which you automatically are, unless you choose to opt out), but that’s the only pre-requisite!

If you have any questions or concerns about whether or not running will affect your status (in terms of visas, funding, etc.), please get in touch with us via email and we’ll be more than happy to help you out.

Where do I start?

Nominating yourself couldn’t be easier! All you need is your Student ID number, a few personal details, and you’ll be set to start your campaign in the elections!

Nominations open on 17 January and close 9 February, so make sure you don’t miss out and nominate yourself now!
