At the Students’ Union, there are multiple ways you can get involved from attending events, to joining one of our Student Communities or taking part in one of our research projects. But as well as all of this, you can also become a Student Leader. So here is how you can start your leadership journey whilst at Royal Holloway:

Student Executive Members:

We have three Student Executives to ensure we are collaborating more effectively with students on key issues. They are made up School Reps, Community Officers and 10 elected student group members (elected during the Community Elections).

Community Officers:

Community Officers oversee our Inclusion and Academic Student Communities and provide a space for underrepresented groups to have their voices heard on campus and beyond. Nominate yourself during the Community Elections in May to become a Community Officer.

Student Trustees:

Students are able to sit on our Trustee Board alongside the Sabbatical Officers and external trustees. This is a recruited role, so you can find out if there are any vacancies by checking out our Work For Us page or emailing the Voice team

Committee Members:

Start your leadership journey by becoming a committee member of a sports club, society or media outlet. Check out our Student Communities and see what groups are of interest to you and nominate yourself for a role during the Community Elections.

Academic Reps:

Academic reps are here to represent students on a course at an academic level. Anyone can sign up to be a course rep or you can run for a School Rep position during our Leadership Elections.

Sabbatical Officers:

The highest form of student leadership is our Sabbatical Officers. Each year, students elect four Sabbatical Officers to work full-time in the SU, leading on student issues, campaigns and policy changes. Fancy becoming a Sabb? Nominate yourself during the Leadership Elections in Term Two.
