Student Voice

The Students’ Union is here to represent your views so that your time studying at Royal Holloway is a positive and enjoyable experience.

By being the collective voice of students we are able to tackle pressing issues, lobby for social change, and campaign on your behalf – using your views and opinions as guidance.

There are loads of different ways you can actively get involved, from becoming an academic rep and making changes on your course, through to engaging in our Policy Inquiries and Student Insight reports and having a direct say on the experiences you have throughout your time here.

Academic Reps

Academic reps make changes to the educational experiences of students in every single department, across every level of study. As an academic rep, you get bespoke development opportunities as well as support from over 350 other academic reps.

Collectives

Collectives represent groups of students who are typically underrepresented in the university experience. As well as organising activities, events and campaigns, they also work with the Union to secure the general interests and rights of the students that define into the relevant groups. Members are those who self-define into the groups but, if you don’t, you can register to be a supporter and still get involved.

Sabbatical Officers

Each year, the student body elects four Sabbatical Officers to work full-time in the Students’ Union for a year. Utilising your thoughts and opinions, they work on a range of issues that affect student life to make sure that your time here is the best they can be. We’ll be launching the elections later this year, so keep an eye out for that! If you’re interested in finding out more about our current Officers, hit this link!
