About us

The Royal Holloway Polo Club is a friendly, inclusive and tight-knit environment in which to learn a new and dynamic sport. We are open to riders of all abilities, and the club is home to players who have a number of years' experience both with polo and classical riding, plus complete novices when it come to all things equine!

Group lessons are flexible between Tuesday and Friday (for student prices - weekends sometimes available at extra cost) so you can fit them around your studies. Private lessons are also available at a higher price if you would like to tune up your polo skills on a one-to-one basis.

Members can play both arena and grass polo; there are many opportunities for playing in matches and friendly competitions, either against fellow RH students or other university teams.

The club attends the SUPA (Schools and Universities Polo Association) Summer and Winter national competitions on an annual basis, these are great ways to meet students from other universities, build friendships and hone your skills! If you don't want to compete, don't worry, we have lots of people come with us just to watch and have a good time.

Events and Activities

  • Flexible weekly at Ash Farm Polo Club
  • Competitive matches against other universities such as SUPA Winter and Summer nationals as well as Varsity
  • Matches against other Royal Holloway students
  • Regular social events open to anyone looking to just get involved and get to know the rest of the club
  • Royal Holloway SU social events such as ‘come in your kit’
  • Larger social events such as ‘Colours Ball’ and other university polo balls.
  • In term one we are hosting our own charity polo ball, 'Rock the Polo,' which will be held on the Jewel of London Boat. The theme is masquerade ball, and tickets are available now!!
  • We are running a charity campaign to raise money for our nominated charities - London Air Ambulance and Rider's Mind. This will  involve several fundraising events leading up to a charity walk in term two.

Memberships

Purchasing a full membership allows you to join in all polo activities and compete, as well as social events.

A social membership allows you to be part of the polo society through social events but not to actually play.

Please note, membership prices do not include lesson or competing costs, as this is done individually and directly to Ash Farm Polo or SUPA respectively.

Membership fees go towards the running and development of the club and help us widen our equipment collection which is all available to members. It also covers your insurance which is essential and required in order to play polo for the uni. As a member of the polo club you will be able to represent the university while also meeting a lot of likeminded and fun individuals who share a similar interest to you!

Contact Us

The Committee is really excited to welcome new members, and are very excited for this year. In Term 1, a group chat of members will be made to allow all infomation to be communicated to everyone directly.

Alternatively, you can always drop us an email at polo@royalholloway.su or send us a message via instagram @rhulpolo.
