Welcome to Royal Holloway Chess, the ‘mind sport’ on campus!
Our club offers a wide range of opportunities for both casual players and for those who are looking for competition. This includes fun chess games, teaching, socials, casual tournaments within the club and tournaments against other universities and clubs.
Join us in the evenings and meet with like-minded individual, mingle with our fun committee members where you can have fun become a better player or gain a new skill. The money from the memberships goes into paying for the entry fees of the tournaments. The friendly nature of the club creates a special environment where we can all share our passion for chess and make fond, lasting memories!
Whether you’re looking to represent your university in a competition or just want to learn how to play chess and relax with us in the evenings; join our close-knit group of chess enthusiasts on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8pm and there is something for everyone! Locations of sessions will be published before the session on our social media.

This election will fill positions for our remaining Community Officers, who represent underrepresented groups of students on campus, and our remaining Department Reps, who will work alongside the VP Education to support academic representation. This election will also fill any remaining Student Group positions and introduce Union Council to the student body, with students electing their representatives.
