About us

Insanity Radio 103.2 FM is North Surrey's local radio station. We exist to create and curate great local content such as entertainment and news, and to do good in the local community. Operating as part of Royal Holloway Students' Union, we're open to anyone, regardless of their background or experience.

Insanity Radio believes that anyone can do radio and we'll give you all the necessary training to have your very own show on the airwaves. If you'd prefer to be behind the scenes rather than live on air, we've got you covered! We have lots of exciting opportunities, from production and music to news and publicity.

We are a strong and welcoming team, who work hard but also have a lot of fun together with regular socials and events. Whether it's a tricky tech problem, or just something you'd like to know more about - our board members are always there to lend a helping hand and be a friendly face.

Membership

Our membership fees are £32 per year for student members.

For associate members (community members and alumni) the fee is a single payment of £37.

Events and Activities

Each year, we put on a ton of fun activities to get involved in! As a community radio station, it's also important that we bring the station to the streets and interact with our listeners. Some of the events we're offering this year are:

  • Regular socials, such as drinks in Crosslands and karaoke nights.
  • Broadcasting and commentating at Outside Broadcasts, such as Open Days and Varsity.
  • Hopefully, an Insanity SU takeover night and a return of our Charity Radiothon!
  • Attending the Student Radio Awards in November 2024!
  • Attending the Student Radio Association (SRA) Convention 2025 (a great place for networking and learning all things radio!)
  • Alumni/Industry panel discussion and q&a.

Those who purchase a membership and are members of Insanity Radio will be given access to join our exclusive Members chat and our off-air teams chats in our WhatsApp community group so that we can all connect, share information and you can get involved in any of our different off-air teams as well as further broadcasting and journalism opportunities.
