ABOUT US:

First of all, we would like to congratulate you on securing a place in Royal Holloway! We welcome everyone! Every nationality, culture and religion, whether you are Turkish or not, you are welcome.

Joining Turkish Society is a great way to meet and socialise with like-minded people, and to expand your network while studying at Royal Holloway. Our main goal as a society is to create a networking environment for Turkish students. You will be able to meet other students, alumni, and people from relevant sectors within the business life.

We organise events both online and offline which helps us to get to know each other better and to expand our knowledge. We are a community that helps each other in academic and professional life. Whether you wish to stay in the UK or return to Turkey after graduation, this community will always be at your side.

We are also proud that the Turkish Society has always focused deeply on helping charities by raising donations from our events. It is important for us to always help others in the best way we can. Since 2018, we have donated to several charities from Turkey and around the world.

MEMBERSHIP:

Our membership provides excellent opportunities and it is a great way to support our community so we can serve you better. In order to join our events membership must be bought in advance. Please feel free to contact us in case you need help to buy the membership.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:

We organise many events during the year. We celebrate Republic Day (29th of October) with a ball which has become a tradition. We also organise networking events where we invite guest speakers from various industries and backgrounds. This is a valuable opportunity where you get to meet people who have similar goals while also learning about life after college and different sectors. We also occasionally meet and socialise in pubs near the college.

Autumn Elections 2026

This election will fill positions for our remaining Community Officers, who represent underrepresented groups of students on campus, and our remaining Department Reps, who will work alongside the VP Education to support academic representation. This election will also fill any remaining Student Group positions and introduce Union Council to the student body, with students electing their representatives.
