Absolute Harmony

About us

Welcome to Absolute Harmony, Royal Holloway’s very own A Cappella vocal group! We perform diverse, original arrangements of chart hits and classics alike - this year’s arrangements include artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Hozier, Elvis, Taylor Swift, and more! No experience is necessary, we're a relaxed group with an open main choir and a smaller auditioned choir, Hardcore.

Hardcore Harmony enter competitions at national level, tackling more complex arrangements and incorporating choreography into performances. Come and try out if you’re feeling enthusiastic and looking for a close knit group of singers.

As a society, we champion inclusivity and accessibility and we have garnered multiple awards for doing so! We love and celebrate one another unconditionally and we cannot wait to welcome you all with open arms.

Membership

Your Absolute Harmony membership provides you with access to regular weekly rehearsals and allows you to perform at all of our concerts and events, with your name featured in the programme. You will be invited to a number of exclusive members-only events throughout the year, including our special Acapalooza week in February.

Events and Activities

  • Exciting Fresher's week activities - including our taster session and a picnic!
  • Our annual week-long festival Acapalooza, which celebrates all things A Cappella and is filled with incredible socials, quizzes, trips, karaoke nights and LOTS of music!
  • Performances on campus and in the community, such as visiting local care homes.
  • Collaborative concerts and events with other Performing Arts societies as well as A Cappella choirs from around the world - and, of course, an invite to the afterparty! We have previously collaborated with choirs such as The Harvard Callbacks from the USA and EnKor from Malta!
  • Hardcore Harmony participate in national competitions with other A Cappella choirs, providing the opportunity to meet and perform with other amazing choirs!
  • We end each year with our tour to Europe: previous destinations include Malta, Bareclona and Tenerife! Whilst visiting, we sing with and get to know local choirs, as well as exploring the culture, food and unique attractions of each destination. It's the perfect oppurtunity to celebrate the year and say goodbye to our Leavers.
