About us
Welcome to Pokemon Society 2024/25!
PokéSoc is a warm, welcoming society or people of all backgrounds to come together & enjoy the Pokémon franchise.
Whether you collect the trading cards, play the video games, or enjoy Pokémon Go, we plan a range of casual social events, for our members to enjoy. This includes Nintendo gaming nights, minigame nights, quiz nights, art competitions and a few tournements for those of you looking for a challenge.
Here in Pokémon Society we do not gatekeep or condone gatekeeping - everybody is welcome regardless of their knowledge and familiarity with Pokémon and the franchise. Whether you know a lot or nothing at all, we hope you'll feel comfortable at our events and make friends within our society!
Membership
Our membership system is as follows:
£3 is the standard membership (psst, that's cheaper than a meal deal), that allows your free access to our socials (including some prize-grabbing opportunities!) as well as officially counting you as a member of the society!
£12 Competitive Premium, which is for more devoted fans of the franchise and comes with a complementary TCG deck, exclusive access to polls that help decide our next tournements, a dedicated channel in our discord server to talk to other likeminded people. If you purchase premium membership before the 29th October, you'll be granted entery into our raffle for a chance to win a cubchoo sitting cutie!
Both these memberships act as social memberships also! So you do not need to buy both, either will give you full access to the society and the perks of being a member, with the main difference being the additional content and incentives provided!
Events and Activities
We generally meet twice a week — on Tuesday nights and on a weekend.
On Tuesday nights, we meet on campus from 7pm to 9pm/10pm and our activities range from casual socials such as minigames to competitive events like Trading Card Gaming to casual Nintendo gaming and other social activties.
Saturdays range from movie nights, Murder Mysteries and Pokémon Showdown too. Members can stay updated through our Instagram and our Discord.
Sundays include running events bimonthly for every pokemon GO community day!
