GIAG Sports Festival: noon - 8pm; Sport Centre; Come along to the Sports Centre to enjoy a variety of free sports sessions led by our student clubs! Open to all ability levels, it’s the perfect chance to meet new people and get active. No experience needed!

Hideout @ the SU: noon - 6pm; SU Lawn; Grab a burger and chill out in the sun at the Hideout!

Laser Tag: 11am - 6pm; SU Venue; The ultimate laser tag game is back! We're turning the SU into an obstacle filled wasteland so make sure you're there to test your speed and teamwork abilities and capture the flag!

Care Experienced and Estranged Students’ Social: 2pm - 4pm; Tommy's Lounge; Join us for a welcoming social event for Care Experienced and Estranged Students!

“Find a travel buddy” Commuting Students Mixer: 3pm - 5pm; Student Lounge; Join Delilah, your Commuting Students Community Officer for 2025/26 for her first social of the academic year.

Postgraduate Wine & Dine ft. Hall Life: 7pm - 9pm; Student Lounge (Windsor Building); Open to all postgraduate students (taught and research). Come along for a chilled evening of wine, nibbles and meeting new people!

Freshers' Fair: 11am - 5pm; Sports Centre/SU Building/Founders' Square; One of the biggest events on the calendar, Freshers' Fair is your chance to come and check out what you can get involved in for the upcoming year. Meet our Student Communities and pick up loads of freebies, including free pizza from Domino's!

Academic Communities Picnic: 1pm - 3pm; Tommy's Lounge; This is your chance to meet your School and Course Reps, and Academic Community Committee members! Come along and get to know students within your academic department. We'll provide some refreshments and cakes but feel free to bring snacks too!

Sunglasses Decorating: 2pm - 6pm; Tommy's Lounge; Get a little glam for Freshers Ball and decorate a pair of sunglasses! The perfect accessory for the last bit of summer sun and a memento from Freshers 2025!

Give Skateboarding a Go: 5pm - 7pm; MUGA; Come join us to learn the basics of skateboarding, build confidence and have fun in a supportive, friendly environment. This session is perfect for beginners and those looking to try something new! Plus all equipment is provided.

Academic Rep Fair: 11am - 2pm; EWD Building; Our Academic Rep fair will be taking place on Thursday 2 October in the EWD Atrium and is a great opportunity for you to meet the reps who will be representing you in Staff-Student Action Meetings throughout the year!

Boardgames: noon - 4pm; Tommy's Lounge; Challenge your friends to a nail biting game of Monopoly or break the ice with a game of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza! If the second game sounds confusing then come on down to give it a go ;)

Give Futsal a GO: 5pm - 7pm; Sports Hall; Fast-paced, fun, and friendly- come along to our FREE GIAG futsal session! All skill levels welcome, just bring your energy and enjoy the game.

Blind Date with a Book: 7th October midnight - 28th October midnight; Tommy's Lounge; Hidden behind a very vague description and some brown paper are a host of incredible books just waiting to be discovered! Pick up a book from the book swap shelf and maybe find your new favourite read.
