Freshers' Ball ft. Nathan Dawe + more
Dress up to the nines and round off Freshers' Festival in style as we throw a massive ball at the Students' Union where Nathan Dawe will be headlining the biggest party of the week!
This year, we'll be hosting Freshers' Ball in and around the SU Venue, as we take over the lawn and part of the spine road (the main road that runs through campus and past the SU).
Inside, we'll be bringing you live music on the main stage in the SU Venue, along with DJs spinning the decks in the second room.
Outside, you can expect fairground rides and street food, as well as loads of great drink deals at our bars. After proving hugely popular at Summer Ball, we'll also be bringing you a silent disco so you can dance the night away under a giant tent on the SU Lawn!

Nathan Dawe
BRIT-nominated DJ/producer Nathan Dawe is one of the UK’s biggest breakout dance acts of the last five years. Buoyed by a huge fan base in Birmingham and the Midlands, Nathan’s regional pull has started to transmit nationwide via a series of standout UK Top 20 singles.
His breakout record, ‘Flowers’ ft. Birmingham rapper Jaykae – a fresh twist on the UK Garage classic — spent 11 weeks inside the UK Top 20 in early 2020, peaking at #12 and was later certified as his first ever Platinum single. He followed it up with the anthemic, Platinum-selling ‘Lighter’ ft. KSI in the summer of 2020, which entered the UK Singles Chart at #4 on release, later peaking at #3, to land as one of the biggest singles of 2020 – a sentiment compounded by its nomination for Best British Single at the 2021 BRIT Awards.
‘No Time For Tears’ featuring Little Mix landed as Nathan’s third UK Top 20 in 2021 – a collaboration that cemented his reputation as a producer with the world at his feet – before teaming up with Anne-Marie and MoStack on the euphoric UK Top 40 single ‘Way Too Long’ and later fellow producer T. Matthias on most recent single, ‘Goodbye’.
If that wasn’t enough, Nathan was crowned MTV’s Push Artist for 2021, holding off competition from the likes of Griff, Arlo Parks and Pa Salieu, and was also made an official ambassador of Aston Villa FC’s Academy – the football team he’s supported since he was a boy.
Nathan held down his debut residency at Ibiza Rocks last summer, too – he’ll be returning to the island for a second 14-week long residency this summer – as well as embarking on his sold-out ‘Way Too Long’ UK Tour last autumn; a nationwide run that saw him take in dates across Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Cardiff, Glasgow, Dublin, London and Birmingham.
