Toast In Da Bungalow ft. Dick & Dom
Oh yes. Everyone's favourite Monday night out is back for Refreshers. This time we're transforming the SU into a bungalow as we're joined by special guests, Dick & Dom! In true Toast fashion, you can expect everything from cheesy tunes to £1.50 drink deals all night long. Not to mention, it's free entry too. Come along for a little boogie and showcase your finest dad dancing skills to your new (and old) friends.
Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood met over a bacon baguette in the Green Tea Bar of the iconic BBC Television Centre back in 1996. They presented the ‘Broom Cupboard’ presentation links with Otis the Aardvark and learnt their craft hosting hundreds of hours of live television.
20 years later the much loved duo have built up a diverse gaggle of programming across different genres including the double BAFTA award-winning Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow, the BAFTA award-winning Diddy Movies & Diddy TV, and The Legend of Dick and Dom and Splatalot. Their science entertainment show Absolute Genius won them both another BAFTA for 'best presenters'. Away from children’s television, the pair have hosted The Sunday Morning Show (BBC Radio 1) and Are You Smarter than a 10 Year Old? (Sky One). They also regularly DJ at students' union events up and down the country.
In 2011 they received critical acclaim for their roles in the feature film Horrid Henry: The Movie. They have headlined Butlins twice with an 80 date sell out tour and in 2013 they trod the boards to rave reviews in the West End, starring as King Arthur and Patsy in Monty Python’s Spamalot.
They also take their live show to various festivals across the country including Camp Bestival, Alex James’s Big Feastival, CarFest and Jimmy’s Farm. In 2015 they starred in the World’s Biggest Panto, Cinderella alongside Paul O’ Grady and Bradley Walsh at the Barclaycard Arena. They have had a range of successful children’s books, including a bestseller. They have another book due for release in 2018.
This year, alongside another Butlins tour, they’ll be back on the festival circuit and for the first time they will be performing at the Edinburgh Festival (Underbelly - McEwan Hall).
