Hello there! I am Willow, your current Vice-President (Welfare & Diversity).
So far, I have…
- Secured equal printing credits for all home & international students
- Guaranteed accommodation for postgraduate students
- Worked with college to improve health centre
- Provided free STI tests on campus
- Delivered consent workshops to students
- Supported liberation networks’ campaigns
- Represented International, BME & LGBTQ+ students in college committees.
To continue my work, I promise to:
Improve The Health Centre Further
Continue improving the health centre and push for a comprehensive review of the wellbeing services, so that the college can provide greater mental health & welfare provisions for students who need them.
Secure Out-of-hours Parking Permits for Students
Students shouldn’t have to walk home alone in the dark. As car parks are usually vacant after working hours, I will campaign for out-of-hours parking on campus to help more students get home safely after late-night studying or working night shifts.
Zero-Tolerance Policy to Harassment & Discrimination
To advocate for stronger, action-based solution to tackling harassment and discrimination of all forms on campus e.g. sexual harassment, xenophobia, homophobia by enforcing a zero-tolerance policy at Royal Holloway.
Lobby For College to Build Cheaper Accommodation
Every student, regardless of income background, deserves good quality accommodation that is fit-for-purpose and affordable. Since the college is going to build more accommodation for students, I will lobby for cheaper halls to be built so that Royal Holloway remains a welcoming place for students of all income groups.
Review Liberation Network As Democratic Structures
As the Students’ Union is undergoing a whole-scale democratic review, I will ensure the the Equalities Council is fit-for-purpose for all liberation networks and campaigns.
