I’m your elected SU Women’s Representative and I have the credentials, knowledge, and experience to effect change. In the third year of my history undergrad, I served as president of Feminism Society, leading discussions, events, and campaigns that celebrated the pluralism of feminist opinion. The society was awarded the Sarah Parker Remond Inclusivity and Accessibility Award for our outstanding commitment to championing diversity. While studying my MA in Public History, I’m also a trustee on a newly established charity, Four Walls, whose mission is to eliminate the need to sleep rough throughout the UK.

I stand for a more centralised and accessible SU democracy. As the SU undergoes a democratic review, I will prioritise the inclusivity of SU politics. I will merge the education, equalities, and student opportunities council into a single representative assembly, which eliminates the confusing bureaucracy of the SU. I will work alongside sabbatical officers and student groups to establish representative system that is engaging and effective. I’ll introduce ‘Bright Ideas’ representatives to champion student-led changes within the Union, while working with media outlets to broadcast Union assemblies.

As president, I will make it easier for students to hold the college and SU accountable by introducing a termly question time with the college’s senior executives. This will allow students the chance to submit anonymous questions online and put a name to the faceless executives that make decisions about our education.

To help students save money, I’ll introduce an SU rewards scheme, which will include discounts and benefits for all paid student activities members. This will give you the chance to claim rewards to use at SU venues.

I will campaign for a more representative and diverse curricula by lobbying departments to commit to the Liberate Our Curriculum campaign. I’ll work with the college’s academic board to obtain public, written pledges from department heads, while collaborating with course representatives to oversee campaign efforts.

I will prioritise sexual assault prevention and introduce more specialised support for survivors. Firstly, I’ll ensure an anonymous form is implemented in the fall of 2018. I’ll continue to raise awareness through the ‘One in Three’ campaign and lobby the college to employ a sexual assault support officer.
