LEGAL ADVICE.
How do I get legal advice?
Here at Royal Holloway Students’ Union, we are not able to give legal advice. However, we do have a trained lawyer who can provide a free virtual legal appointment (of up to 20 minutes) who will look at your case and give you advice.
The initial appointment is free and will give you a good sense of whether or not you should continue to explore the case. If you then wish to continue, the lawyer will give you a great rate only for our students so that you can fight your case.
Due to the nature of the deal and the work which it can contain the lawyer cannot advise or represent on any cases that are against the Union or the College themselves as this would be a conflict of interest for the service.
What can I get legal advice for?
Whilst you cannot use the service to seek legal advice against the university or other students, below are some examples of what you could seek advice for:
- Consumer issues
- Family problems
- Private housing issues
- Workplace issues
- Debt and Money
*this list is not exhaustive
